CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES DISCUSS SMULGGLING AND TRAFFICKING

A delegation of Azerbaijan’s customs committee has left Baku for Brussels, to join a meeting on ways of expansion of cooperation between customs bodies of European and Asian nations, as well as scenarios for joint measures aimed at smuggling prevention, etc.

The three-day meeting, arranged by the World Trade Organization (WTO), opened on Thursday; the participants вЂ" including first deputy chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, Aydin Guliyev вЂ" will also be presented a project on fighting smuggling and ensuring safety.

Commenting on the missions and objectives of the upcoming cooperation, WTO Secretary General Michel Dane, in Baku in May, said that the project envisions safety and security in land transportation. He noted that the project would be realized on the basis of a partnership among customs services of the concerned countries and companies active in the field of land transportation.
