NET INT’L RESERVES OF NBA GREW IN MAY

In May the amount of net international reserves of the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) grew 3,339%, while in the beginning of the year it comprised 7,585%. The NBA told Trend as of 1 June 2005 the net international reserves comprised 5164.3bn mantas against 4997.4bn manats as of 1 May and 4800bn mantas as 1 January 2005.

Net internal asserts comprised 3099.5bn mantas against 2,899,5bn manats as of 1 May and 2,715,1bn manats as of 1 January 2005. The expanded money mass (M3) as of 1 June made up 8,263,8bn mantas against 7,897bn manats as 1 May and 7,515,2bn manats as 1 January 2005. As of June M3 made up 3,631,8bn manats against 3,381,8bn manats as of 1 May and 3,418bn manats as of 1 January 2005.

Under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility program the government and the IMF accorded the following minimal level of net international reserves of the NBA. On 30 June 2005 - 4,994trln manats, 31 September 2005 - 5,332trln manats, 31 December 2005 - 5,663trln manats. Under PRGF Us dollar rates are set as 4,606 manats. As of 1 June 2005 the estimated reserves comprised $1,121,211m.

Under PRGF the following limitations were accepted: on 30 June 2005 - 2,381 trln manats, 31 September 2005 - 2,462trln manats, 31 December 2005 - 2,738trln manats.
