FIRST BUDGET DEFICIT FIXED IN 2005

The 2005 public budget revenues comprised 3,666,3bn manats (US $770,879m) in January to May 2005, or 35.6% higher than 2004, Trend reports.

The public budget expenditure was implemented by 3,671,1bn manats, 48.7% more than 2004. Thus, the public budget deficit comprised 4.9bn manats, or 0,025% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on January-May (19,839,1bn mantas). It came as the first public budget deficit in Azerbaijan in 2005.

The 2005 budget was projected on the base of 9,422bn mantas in revenues, 10, 001bn mantas in expenditure, and 579bn mantas in deficit. The revenues were implemented by 38.91%, while expenses - 36,71% in this period.

An increase of \public budget revenues was earlier designed as 9,422bn manats, but now it will come to 10,222bn manats. The expenditure will increase 1,015bn mantas and comprise 11,016bn. The additional budget deficit will make up +215bn manats.
