Commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline will affect positively the transport sector activities, particularly, the improvement of transport corridors operation and the infrastructure development, the Transport Ministry (MT) of Azerbaijan told Trend.
At the result of the BTC commissioning the growth of the freight traffic volume is expected. By the MT’s estimates, the traffic volume in 2005 is supposed at the level of 122,4 million tons, which is by 12% higher of 2004. The growth tempo is forecasted also in 2006 by 18,3% (141,3 million tons, in 2007 вЂ" by 5,9% (149,7 million tons).
