MONTHLY AVERAGE SALARY IN OIL SECTOR EXCEEDS 2,2 TIMES SALARY OF OTHER SECTORS OF INDUATRIAL COMPLEX

The monthly average salary of the oil sector employees exceeds 2,2 times the average salary of workers in other sectors of the country’s industrial complex of economy.

The average salary of this sector’s employee, a citizen of Azerbaijan, made up 1, 3 million manats in January-May 2005 by the 35 % growth, as compared to January-May 2004, the State Statistics Committee (SSC) told Trend.

The highest average wage in the production area falls at the metallurgy, cement production, transport equipment production and oil-refining enterprises.

The average salary growth in electrical energy, gas and water supply and their distribution made 528,300 manats, by the 29,1% growth and the employee number of 35,100 people.

The average monthly nominal salary under the temporary work was 1,008 thousand manats, by the growth of this indicator by 10 per cent as compared to the last year’s similar period.

In the current January-May the number of workers, engaged in the industrial sector grew by 3,6% and made up 151,9 thousand people, as compared to the similar period of the last year, and in the non-state sector such a growth made up the 15,2%, what led to the increase of the workers’ number to 48,000 people.

Such a growth is accounted, according to the (SSC), by the fulfillment of the State program for socio-economic development of regions, within which new jobs are envisioned.
