RED BALANCE OF FOREIGN TRADE FALLS IN OCTOBER

The red balance of the foreign trade of Azerbaijan fell considerably in October 2005. Arif Valiyev, the head of the State Statistics Committee (SSC), said on July 18 that at present part of export falls on oil products. "Over 6 months of 2005 export has been low, as currently the

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline is being fulfilled with oil. Export will grow as soon as oil is loaded to tankers in October 2005. It will not certainly remove the red balance, while it will be very low,” Valiyev underlined.

As of totals of 2005 deficit is expected to comprise $916.1m. Over 5 months of 2005 definite of the foreign trade of Azerbaijan made up $704,236,600.

In January to May the foreign goods turnover constituted $2,822,282,300, or 25.89% up as compared to January-April of 2005. This period import made up $1,763,259,500, while export - $1,059,022,8.
