“The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in all three directions of partnership,” said Augistine Karstens, Deputy Distributor Director. The
IMF cooperates with all member-countries in three directions, including delivery of technical assistance, reviews in accordance with Article 4 of the agreement and allotment of IMF funds.
Karstens noted that the IMF is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the first two directions, as under the second one the cooperation is carried out with all IMF member-countries. The implementation of an annual review, compiling of relevant reports and its consideration at the IMF Executive Board means the fulfillment of the IMF’s control functions.
As to cooperation under the use of IMF funds, Karstens noted that the IMF was ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan under any program, while the major accent will be put on the implementation of its components, but not boring of funds.
