EXPORT OF AZERBAIJAN FORECASTED TO $7.1BN IN 2006

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) presented to the Ministry of Finances the macro-economic forecasts for 2006, Farhad Aliyev, the Minister for Economic Development told Trend.

"On 15 September the macro-economic forecasts will be once more considered and accorded with the relevant governmental bodies and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for further consideration,” he noted.

Aliyev said that serious rise was forecasted in major macro-economic indices. In 2006 the GDP is expected to rise by 30%, salaries вЂ" 25%. It is also planned to raise the level of export-import operations, in particular, maintain the stability of import and serious increase of the export.

"Next year import is expected to increase to $4bn, while export - $7.1bn. The investments in the infrastructure projects will grow, while it is also planned to increase public budget incomes,” he underscored.
