The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Relationships (SECO) is ready to render assistance to the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) in the development of scientific researches.
Movsumov, the General Director of the NBA, said that Prof. Rich, who has worked as senior economist of the Swiss Central Bank for a long period, will arrive in Baku on 29 August.
"Under cooperation with the SECO Prof Rich will assist the NBA in establishing an NBA Department for Economic Researches, relevant international standards," Movsumov said. SACO plans to approve grant for this purpose.
At present the scientific researches are under the disposal of the Department on Money Statistics, headed by Khagani Abdullayev, who earlier headed the Monetary Policy Department. The payment balance statistics was transferred to another department, which is headed by Rauf Mikayilzade.
