On Thursday the State Fund for Social Security (SFSS) submitted a draft law on Labor Pension to the President’s Executive Power and the Cabinet of Ministers,” Trend reports quoting Salim Muslimov, the chairman of the SFSS. "The new document envisages increase of the pension age. Within 6 months the pension age of women will be increased from 57 to 60 years," Muslimov said.
According to Muslimov, earlier they process the issue on equaling the pension age between men and women, however, in the end it was resolved to refuse from it.
At the recommendation of the World Bank from 2001 there was adopted a concept on pension reforms and pension age for men is 62 and for women - 57.
Taday average life-span in Azerbaijan is 79 for women and 69 for men.
According to Muslimov, as of 1 July 1,357,887 have been registered in Azerbaijan, with a rise of 1.1% up as compared to January. The labor pensioners comprise 1,169,000, including 760,877 pensioners for age, 181,540 social pensioners (including 22,730 for age). 389,200 people received disability pensions in the country.
