The government of Azerbaijan commenced to study the initial version of the World Bank’s Country Assistance Strategy (CAS). The CAS project is highly qualitative and implies allocation of funds for implementation of projects in the non-oil sector development and the infrastructure reconstruction fields, the Ministry of Finance told Trend.

The tempos of the country’s economy development give grounds for including in the Strategy provisions, noting the denial to fund Azerbaijan on the basis of the International Association of Development (IAD) since 2009. However, today the tempos of the economic development are such, that such denial of the country’s funding on the IAD conditions and transition to the crediting under the conditions of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) may happen in 2007, as for 2005-2006 Azerbaijan succeeded in achieving the relatively high GDP index per capita.
