Development of the Tariff Council (TC) new regulation is completed. For the moment the document is under consideration at the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant decision will be taken shortly, the Minister of Economic Development Farhad Aliyev told Trend. "Powers of authority of various bodies will be defined in the renewed regulation of TC”, the Minister noted.
Renewal of the document is authorized by the Decree of the Azerbaijan’s President “On strengthening of the anti-inflation measures in the Azerbaijan Republic”, paragraph в"-4.2, under which the Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to specify and approve the list of goods (works, services), prices (tariffs), which are regulated by the state, as well as aimed at ensuring the flexible activities of the Tariff Council which is to prepare and submit to the President of Azerbaijan a new draft of the TC Regulation for approval in two month’s period.
Commenting on the issue of setting up a separate agency for regulating similar issues, “it is not expected in the nearest time”, the minister said. As long as the communal services, for instance, are rendered by the state, they are to be regulated by the state”. The relevant agency is planned to be as a public one and representatives of the private sector, state institutions and the Parliament may be involved in its structure.
