A meeting of Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council is scheduled for 12 October, Abbas Abbasov, the Azerbaijan Deputy Premier, told Trend the gathering will focus on 31 issues.
"During the meeting it is planned to discuss a series of problems of economic direction, in particular, the CIS budget issues. Besides, the structural and humanitarian questions will also be under consideration," Abbasov underlined.
A delegation headed by Abbasov will represent Azerbaijan the gathering.
In accordance with the Rules on CIS Economic Council, a commission on economic issues with headquarters in Moscow functions under the Council. The commission is comprised of the authorities of the representatives of the CIS members at the CIS Economic Council, as well as Deputy Chairmen of the CIS Executive Committee and CIS Executive Secretary with right of vote.
The commission ensures comprehensive processing and consideration of draft documents, drafted by the CIS Executive Committee and field bodies of the socio-economic character, as well as coordination of the countries’ position.
