“Russia plans to open trade representation in Azerbaijan. The body will be established
by the Economic Development Ministry,” Intigam Husseynov, the head of the Azerbaijan-Russian Chamber of Business Cooperation, told Trend.
The Russian government made a decision on opening of some trade representations in different countries, which will require solution of numerous technical problems.
“The trade representation will be a body of the Economic Development Ministry. The goal of the representation is to expand economic relations and stimulate foreign trade growth. If in 2004the trade turnover between Russian and Azerbaijan comprised $300m, we hope to increase the figure up to $1bn,” Gennadiy Yevsukov, the spokesman of the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
