Malpensa airport to transport 500 passengers in a week through new route

“Malpensa airport plans to transport around 500 passengers in a week through the Baku-Milan-Baku route, opened on Monday,” Mauricio Merenda, the Director of the airport said at the opening ceremony, Trend reports.

According to Merenda, the passenger flow will gradually increase in the future.

Emil Karimov, the Azerbaijani embassy to Italy, stated that stabile growth was observed in the bilateral relations. The goods turnover between the countries comprises around $1bn.

The Baku-Milan-Baku flight is supposed to be carried out twice in a week on the Mondays and Fridays.

From January to Septemebr 2005 Malpensa airport transported over 14.9m passengers or 5.7% more as compared 2004. The cargo transportation exceeds 271,000 tons or 8.2% more as compared 2004.
