Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan intends to use Russian experience by designing new bridges in Baku

The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan plans to use the Russian experience while designing new bridges in Baku in the framework of solution of difficulties in the capital city caused by traffic jams in many streets and avenues, the Ministry told Trend.

The specialists from the Ministry are currently picking up information on the issue. Involving of specialists from Russia for the project development is also planned.

The amount of 2 billion manats has been allocated from the state budget of Azerbaijan for developing the new bridges constructing projects. Preparatory works are underway on the Azadlig avenue and the Azizbekov ring. Tender for identifying the consultant will be announced upon the project preparation accomplishment.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan is compiling the action plan for traffic jams liquidation. The document will be submitted to the countrys president executive office. Not only building of roads, allotting sites for buses and taxi stands, construction of bridges and etc. is planned in the document. Extending of some streets and avenues where the impediments for the transport arise is envisaged here, as well as building of two-level or three-level flyovers.
