The Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum Agro-development and cooperation in agriculture is scheduled to be held from 20 to 22 February 2006 in Baku, the head of the Azerbaijan Fund for Investment and Export Facilitation Emil Medjidov told Trend. According to him, applications to participate in the forum have been already submitted by 10 Israeli and some 50 Azerbaijani companies.

It will be the first business forum between the two countries, the diplomatic mission of Israel to Azerbaijan told Trend. As Israel is the supplier of the technologies and know-how throughout the world, the business forum in Azerbaijan was decided to be dedicated to the agro-technologies, which are one of the most developed sectors in Israel. Besides, while selecting these themes the fact that agriculture is the priority in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan today was taken into consideration.

The delegation of the Israeli businessmen will be headed by the agro-technologies coordinator at the International Expert Institute, Ranit Golovati. Beside the agro-technology producers, representatives of the Israel banking sector, MASHAL program and other are expected to be involved in the delegation.
