The office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations will be opened in Azerbaijan, the organizations new official for Azerbaijan Abdelatif Tabet said, Trend reports.
According to him, it will facilitate closer cooperation of FAO with Azerbaijan.
The issue of the FAO office opening in Azerbaijan was raised by its head Jacque Dufom during his visit to Baku in April 2005.
Tabet noted, the organization from its part will assist in implementing of the projects on involvement of the donor organizations.
The Ministry of Agriculture noted, the state body has already submitted 3 projects of FAO for approval: Increase of competitiveness of agricultural products and organization of marketing in Azerbaijan, Food Safety, Development of silkworm breeding.
