The 5th meeting of the state commission on preparations for joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) will be held under the chairmanship of Heydar Babayev, the Economic Development Minsiter, on Friday, the Minsitry told Trend. The goal of the meeting is to discuss the documents prepared for the next negotiations to submit them to WTO.
The documents were due to be presented by mid-January 2006 to hold negotiations in late February 2006. Ussually the document are submitted to the organization 4 or 5 weeks before the negotiations. Therefore, the negotiations are possible to be held next month.
At present, Azerbaijan prepares for the last meeting within the first stage of the negotiations with WTO. During the forthcoming round Azerbaijan will have meetings with the representatives of the European Union, the United States, Canada and Australia.
