World Bank to allocate up to $20 million for judicial and legal systems reforming in Azerbaijan

For up-dating the Azerbaijan judicial system the World Bank (WB) jointly with the Azerbaijan government set to the project developing. The WB mission headed by the senior expert on state sector management Valid Malek is currently in Baku, the WB Baku office told Trend.

The World Bank will fund reforms in the judicial and legal system for the first time. The project is incorporated into the new partnership strategy of the World Bank with the government of Azerbaijan. Allocating of up to $20 million credit resources of the International Development Association is planned for these purposes.

The mission will stay in the country till 22 February. It will hold meetings at the Justice Ministry, the Supreme Court, other state bodies, with other donors, engaged in implementation of such projects in the country.
