The Taxes Ministry supports the initiative of the Finance Ministry to separate the document on injection of changes and supplements into the Tax Code from budget package. During the conversation with journalists Fazil Mammadov, The Tax Minsiter, called it more civil way due to necessity of supplements and changes arising at the discussions that led to review of the budget package, Trend reports. It is better to adopt tax changes and then set to consideration of the public budget taking into consideration changes than to correct all package, the Minister said. According to Mammadov, the Theasure and the Finance Minsiter have already started work in this direction.
Mammadov supposes that the document on changes and supplements into the Taxes Code will be submitted to the government in June.
As to decrease of tax burden, particularly, income tax, the Minister regards annual reconsideration of its rate as inexpedient. From 2006 income tax comprises 22%, while the figure was 24% over 2 years. The Taxes Minister said that the government planed to reduce income tax down to 20% (by 5%) during 5 years.
