In 2005 the Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes under the Taxes Ministry set to consideration of 24 more criminal cases on illegal entrepreneurship and tax evasion.
The facts on tax concealment were revealed in regard to 22 legal and 2 physical entities, which were registered at branches 1,2, and 3 of the Baku Tax Department, as well as branches 2,5, and 6 of the territorial tax departments, including, tax departments of Fuzuli, Gubadly and Lachin, Trend reports referring to a news release spread by the Ministry. The total sum of the concealed tax comprises 16,987m AZN. The Department filed criminal cases on items 213.2 and 213.4 of the Criminal Code in this regard.
