Aydin Aliyev, the chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, received Rino Harnish, the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, on Wednesday. The sides discussed existing bilateral political, economic and trade relations, as well as development of customs cooperation, which has particular part in the interstate relationship, Trend reports.
Touching upon the special role of the cooperation with the U.S. customs service, Aliyev noted that the agreement on mutual aid and cooperation on customs issues between the Azerbaijani and the U.S. governments was ready for signing.
Harnish highly appreciated the role of the customs body of Azerbaijan as member country of antiterrorist coalition in protection of borders for security of the world, and informed Aliyev that the USA was ready to render comprehensive aid to the Azerbaijani customs service in training of personnel and exchange of experience.
U.S. diplomat expressed satisfaction with dynamics of the economic development in Azerbaijan and said that the USA attached special significance to the cooperation with the country as relaible partner. Harnish voiced assurance in the further strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between the customs bodies.
