Azerbaijan, Russia clarify property disputes

The Azerbaijani and the Russian governments will develop and unify a draft agreement on placement and rendering of service to Azerbaijani and Russian diplomatic representations at their territories till late 2nd quarter of 2006. The Azerbaijani-Russian inetergovernmental commission decided to finish property disputes between the two countries under the agreement. It will allow determining forms and directions

of management of Azerbaijani property in Russia or forms of solution of claims by Russia on Azerbaijani property, Abbas Abbasov, the 1st deputy Vice-Premier, the co-chairman of the commission, told Trend.

It should be mentioned that legalization of proprietary right in regard to the buildings of the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia, located at Leontyev alleyway, 15; Gogol Boulevard, 31 and Voznesensky alleyway, 15 remains unregulated during many years. According to Abbasov, under the legislation the government is eligible to appeal to court or use other methods of solution. One of them is preparation of agreement.

Dispute over property of Azerbaijan in oil and gas infrastructure will be solved by similar way, Abbasov underlined.
