The Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has appointed the date of next talks on Azerbaijans entrance to the organization to 30 March, a government source told Trend. Baku was informed of it late last week.

As part of talks it is planned to hold meetings with the representatives of the United States, Canada and the European Union to discuss the proposals on services and trade. The state commission in particular worked out proposals for WTO member-countries, who want more liberal terms for access to countrys commodity and services market.

Over 9 years the country carried out preparatory work on membership to the WTO, while it entered a decisive stage in 2005 launching bilateral talks with the countries. The Government has two major tasks to implement, including the consolidation measures on improvement of intensification of bilateral talks.
