The State Statistics Committee (SSC) adherers the last guidelines developed the International Labor Organization (ILO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development while calculating the consumer price index (CPI). The SSC told Trend that there no need for designing a new methodology for calculating of CPI.
At present a technical mission of the IMF is in Baku and the leading experts of the Statistic Department of the IMF, Michael Silver will hold consultations with the SSC 3 March. The SSC favor the IMFs methodology in calculation of the CPI and has used he last version of classifier for over two years. It was not applied even in many CIS countries. During the visit of the last technical mission of IMF to Baku employees of the SSC asked to estimate the existing methodology for calculation of index, while the IMF sent an expert under the technical assistance.
