Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan hold negotiations on prolongation of the route of the demonstrative container train to the Dostik station at the Kazakh-Chinese border. It will allow attraction of containers from China, which is one of the biggest consignors in Asia, to the transportation via the route, Trend reports quoting Ziya Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Transport Minister.

This train worked along the Poti-Baku-Actau-Almaty route at launching. The operator of the train is Black sea transit LTD and Advantage international transport and logistics LTD

.

The container train was launched on 24 December 2005. It is due to promote attraction of consignors from China and Europe. The cargoes are transported from the Georgian Poti port to the Kazakh Actau port through Baku and back.

According to experts, around 3% or 4% of the total container cargo flow falls to Russia due to dumping policy of prices. It comprises around 150,000 containers a year. Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan intend to attract a part of cargoes for transportation via the TRACECA corridor.
