About 4,000 tax-payers struck off register of VAT in Azerbaijan

Around 4,000 tax-payers were struck off the register of VAT by the Azerbaijani Tax Ministry over the last 3 months, Trend reports quoting Natig Amirov, the Deputy Minister of Taxes. No budgetary organizations and state enterprises could accept invoices from these enterprises. The Tax Ministry placed a list of these tax-payers on the web page.

Financial sanctions will be imposed on them in case of revealing of implementation of transactions on the base of invoices.

Besides, Amirov stressed that nobody of them were restored at the register of VAT. These measures ate taken in relation to toughening of registration of tax-payers on VAT and measures on struggle with debtors and defaulters. In January the first stage of investigation completed, as a result of which 1,436 infringers were revealed. At present the number of the registered VAT-payers comprises around 10,000.

Over 2001-2005 the total sum concealed from paying made up approximately 17trln manats. The figure was revealed through the information base of tax bodies. As a result of it 3,132 trln manats were paid to the public budget as VAT.
