SVS conducts a diagnostic examination of 4,500 samples of birds for bird flu' virus

Untill 4 April the State Veterinary Service (SVS) under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry conducted a diagnostic examination of around 4,500 samples of birds, including, 3,463 poverty, 998 wild birds, 3 heads of other cattle, for bird flu virus, SVS told Trend.

Different kinds of the virus were revealed in the samples of 14 hens, 20 wild birds, and 1 dog. In Baku 7 hens were infected with H5N1, a dog - H5 (1,236 samples), while in Absheron 2 hens were H5N1-diseased (248 samples).

Besides, from 1,654 samples taken from poultry factories H5N1 virus was revealed in samples of 3 hens at the Gilazi poultry factory, H5N1 and H5N2 virus - samples of 3 hens at the Bilasuvar poultry enterprise, as well as H5 - samples of 3 hens at the Arka poultry enterprise.

SVS stressed similar work was carried out in all regions of the country, national parks, the territories, where migrant birds temporally settled. The results of the search are reflected in the following table:

Besides, quarantine was cancelled in the all regions, except the Banovshalar settlement. The situation is under control, SVS noted.
