At the moment Azerbaijan is approving the members of delegation to partake in the fifth session of intergovernmental commission of member-countries along the TRASECA corridor to be held May 2 to 3, 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Trend reports with reference Akif Mustafayev, TRASECAs national secretary from Azerbaijan.
In the course of forthcoming session it is planned to discuss and approve the transport corridor development strategy to be valid till 2016. Issues regarding budget07 and observers status are also included in the agenda.
Mr Mustafayev said it is also planned to discuss the design of demonstration container train to move along Poti-Baku-Aktau-Almaty route.
At present Azerbaijan, Kazkhstan and Georgia are talking on prolongation of this route to Dostyk station on Chinese-Kazakh border. This, experts say, will significantly raise the volume of transported cargo.
One more issue of the forthcoming session is opening railroad communication along Kars-Ahalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku route.
