I am against Azerbaijan entering World Trade Organization any time soon, the chairman of the permanent commission on economic politics at Milli Mejlis, Ziyad Samedzadeh told Trend.
He explained it by several factors. A dumping policy is carried out in order to invade this or that market in Azerbaijan. They sell cheap goods for some periods of time and destroy the production. Therefore, it is necessary to protect Azerbaijani economy from such perils. If we want to develop our economy we have to make our production competitive, he said.
He claimed that he is against Azerbaijan joining the WTO as Azerbaijan does not have much production to present to the international markets. In order to build up our economy we have to produce goods capable to compete at the world` s markets. We have to develop agriculture. Azerbaijan could become a member of this organization only after it will prove its place in the world economy, he concluded.
