The National bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) plans to transit fro 2008 to forecasting direct inflation from planning of inflations through the money mass, Elman Rustamov, the chairman of the managing Board of the NBA, told Trend.
The Research Center of the NBA now is conducting active researches into this direction. Particularly, the transmission channels of inflation is being investigated in the country, Rustamov underlined. Starting from next year it would be possible to transit to mild form of panning of inflation along with targeting money base. I hope in 2008 it will be possible to transit to targeted planning of inflation, which will be known as a result of studies in this sphere, Rustamov stressed.
In the first quarter the growth of money mass made up 6.7% in condition of 4.6%-growth pace of inflation. This year is expected to see 25-30%-rise in money mass, while inflation ratio will be less than 10%.
