Azerbaijan to participate in Eurasian economic summit

The 9th Eurasian economic summit will be held in Istanbul from 8 to 10 May with the organization supports of the Fond of Marmara Group. The Azerbaijan Ministry of Economic Development the head of the Executive Apparat of the Ministry, Samir Veliyev will attend the event. Moreover, Ali Hasanov, the head of the Public and Political Department of the Azerbaijani Presidents Executive Power, the Deputy Prim Minister President, Abid Sharifov, the Minister for Industry and Energy, Natik Aliyev, the chairman of the State Committee on Azerbaijani living abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov are among the invited.

The gathering will bring together the governmental officials and businessmen from Central Europe, Balkans, Caucasus, Central Asia and other world countries. Last year representatives from 30 countries participant in the event, of which 10 countries were represented in the level of ministers, Turkey speaker, and 6 ministers and 9 Presidents.

In its first day on 8 May forum will consider issues in the energy sector and focus on the implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline project and alternative energy corridors. The second of the event will be dedicated to sectoral researches in the industry with key accent on the textile industry. It is also planned to consider the issue on development of tourism. The last day of the event will mull the global fighting with terror and provision of international security.

The Eurasian forum is held every year starting from 1998.
