Aztranspetrol to rise oil transportation through Azerbaijan next year

In 2006, shipping agency Aztranspetrol transported nearly 10.2 MT of oil and oil products through Azerbaijan, reportedly said Mirkal Aygul, financial director of the agency.

From the total volume of shipments, some 2 MT are the oil and oil products from Turkmenistan. The agency official said volume of transported Kazakh oil and oil products is much lower.

The agency also transports oil for BP, ExxonMobil and oil products from oil refinery Azneftyag.

During the whole 2006, the company plans to reach transportation volume of 115 MT of oil and oil products. From this volume, Turkmen oil and oil products make some 3-4 MT, Azeri oil and oil products nearly 600 KT a month.

Aztranspetrol was established in Dubai and ships oil through the territory of Azerbaijan up to Beyuk Kesik station.
