Georgia probable to receive part of Turkey's share of Shah Deniz gas Georgian Energy Deputy Minister

Georgia continues talks with Azerbaijan and Turkey on increase of gas delivery to this country, Isaak Novruzoglu, the Georgian Deputy Energy Minister, told Trend.

This year 850 million cu m of gas will be lifted from Shah Deniz field, 300 million cu m of which will receive Azerbaijan, 500 million cu m - Turkey and 50 million cu m - Georgia.

Georgia intends to increase this volume at the expense of part of the gas allocated for Turkey, he noted. If the Turkish section is unready for admission of this volume of gas, part of it can be given to Georgia. Now the relevant talks are underway, he added.

Touching upon the electricity operations Novruzoglu said that in accordance with the agreement till September 2006 Georgia will return to Azerbaijan the rest energy debts. In summer period Georgia usually has excess electricity volumes, which will be returned as part of debt in the volume of 15 million KW/h, he underscored.

Earlier, officials of Azerenerji noted that the company intended to receive Georgian debt in winter period, as namely in this period Azerbaijan faced with deficit in electricity.
