Azeri Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babyev met with delegation of Great Duchy Luxemburg, headed by Minister of Economy and External Trade Jannot Kreki, Trend reports with reverence to the Ministrys press service.
In the course of the meeting, Babayev informed the guests of current economic situation in Azerbaijan and prospects of it development.
It was noted that Azerbaijan is progressing rapidly and the success of oil&gas sector positively influenced the other spheres of economy. The special appraisal was given to BTC pipeline as a key factor of regional development. Babayev also outlined Kazakhstans joining BTC project, which, he said, enabled Astana bring its resources to the world market.
Regarding the development of Azeri-Luxemburg cooperation, Azeri Minister mentioned the big resource that is unused today. He also noted that in 2005 amount of trade operations between the two countries was РіРѕРґСѓ $7.1mln, and in January-April 2006 this amount rose in twice over year.
In turn, representative of Luxemburg said he is tracking the development of Azeri economy. Besides, Mr Kreki highly appraised the prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in such spheres as finances, insurance and interbank collaboration.
