GDP in Azerbaijan increased by 38% within 5 months

In January-May of the current year, the gross domestic product (GDP) in Azerbaijan grew by 38% as comprised to the similar indicators of last year. The indicators of GDP, with the current prices, have been estimated at 5853,9 mln manats for June 1, 2006, Trend reports quoting the State Committee on Statistics. The volume of GDP per capita has increased by 36,5% and reached 702,2 manats ($771,8).

The share of the production in GDP increased by 56% as comprised with the similar period of last year, and reached 67,7% (3965,5 manats). The service sector amount grew by 8,9% in comparison with last year. However, the specific gravity in GDP decreased from 30,7 to 24,8%.

The net tax with the products and import was 7,5% in GDP. For this period, the share of the industry in GDP was 3301mln manats which form 56,4% of GDP, in agriculture, hunting sector and forestry 120,8 mln manats (2%), in construction sector 543,7 mln manats (9,3%), in transport sector 342,5 mln manats (5,8%), in communication sector 112 mln manats (1,9%), in whole and retail trade, automobile sphere, commodities and service sector on repair of personal objects 413,4 mln manats (7,06%), in restaurant and hotel sector 45,5 mln manats (0,8%), delivery of social and other services 535,7 mln manats (9,2%).
