The workgroup for working out the draft Social rehabilitation of convicts has been established, Trend reports quoting Elmira Ahundova, member of permanent commission for social policy within Milli Medjlis.
Ahundova said the document is currently been worked out. В"It will reflect Byelorussian experience and the CEs recommendations. We are planning to bring it to the fall session of
Milli MedjlisВ".
She also said in Soviet times each jail employed psychologists and social workers. Three months before release, convicts were getting employed and issued special passports for registration. Now released dont have any IDs an face problems trying to obtain themВ", - se stated.
She suggested establishing a special authority to solve such a problem. В"There used to be social rehabilitation departments with prosecutors offices, and we have to create the similar authorityВ", - MP said.
