A meeting was held in Azerbaijan National Bank (ANB) with the delegation headed by the vise-president of international rating agency Moodys Д°nvestor Services Jonathan Shifer. He was accompanied by analytic of the agency Kenneth Orchard, as well as vice president of City Group Dilen Demir and managing director Stefan Takin.
The meeting with the chairman of ANB Managing Board Elman Rustamov focused on the monetary policy, the goal to form it, inflation forecasts, balance of payment, situation of foreign debts, course policy, reforms in bank sector, etc.
Besides, the experts held meetings in the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development, State Oil Fund, International Bank, BP and Baku office of EBRD. After the completion of the assessment, Moodys is expected to disburse rating to Azerbaijan in the near future.
In 2006, Azerbaijan will receive rating from two agencies. According to the final rating confirmed by international rating agency Fitch Ratings, the sovereign rating of Azerbaijan in foreign and national currency was kept at level of BB (as in 2004).
