The World Bank (WB) presented to the Azerbaijani government a final report in connection with the completion of the term of implementation of the WBs second project on Institutional Building Technical Assistance (IBTA-2) on 30 June, Trend reports.
The management team of the project said that there was no necessity for prolongation of the project in connection with the non-completion of equipment of regional branches of the treasury on the component of automation of the State Treasury. The purchase of equipment of equipment for treasury ahs been fully covered and now it should be installed in some regional branches after the renovation.
At total cost of IBTA-2 in 7.470mln SDR ($10.6mln), $5.1mln remained unused and later transferred to fight bird flu.
Д°BTA-2 project was approved in 2002. It covered only 4 components from earlier anticipated 10. Among executed are strengthening governmental control, control over financial institutions, social costs reforming and project management, institutional potential
increase through upgrade of legislation in accounting and audit sphere.
