Azeri Customs Service, Korea discuss opportunities for co-op

On 5 July the State Customs Committee (SCC) hosted a meeting between the customs services of Azerbaijan and Koreafor expansion of cooperation, Trendreports.

Prior to the meeting the Korean delegation led by Deputy Commissar of the Commissar Customs Service, Park Chin Kheon, got familiar with Information Center of the SCC and the Customs History Museum.

The deputy chairman of the SCC, Liet-Gen of the Customs Services, Rza Hasanaliyev, said that rapid development of relationships between Azerbaijan and Korea manifests in all spheres. One of major directions of SCCs activities is the future development and consolidation of cooperation with the customs services of other countries. Hasanaliyev underlined that over the past 3 years the goods turnover between Korea and Azerbaijan has increased 2.5 times, He also noted that the SCC closely cooperates with Korea in the sphere of upgrade if the customs activities and application of advanced information technologies in Azerbaijan.

The Korean guest stressed the necessity for establishment of close cooperation in the customs services in the globalized world, like in all other spheres. Kheon noted that the Korean Customs Services is interested in study of experience of the Azerbaijani SCC in organization of customs control over the land borders.
