In January to May 2006 the legal an physical entities of Azerbaijan carried out operations with 117 foreign countries, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee. In this period the foreign trade turnover made up $4138.6m with a rise of 46.4%. The volume of export constituted $2472.5m, while import amounted to $1666.1m. The volume of export rose 2.3 times, whereas import decreased 5.8%. The good turnover ended in a balance $806.4m in black.
46.3% of export-import operations fell on the European Union, 23% - on CIS and 30.7% - on other countries. 63.3% of all operations fell on Europe, 33.7% - Asia, 2.4% - USA, 0.5% - African countries and 0.1% - Overseas.
Over 80% of the foreign trade operations have been implemented with Italy, Russia, Israel, Turkey, UK, Iran, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Ukraine and Romania.
