WB mission hold discussions at Azeri Transport Ministry

A WB transport mission led by Olivie Le Ber, a special on road infrastructure, who is currently visiting Baku, held several meetings in Baku with the representatives of the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan and Yolnegliyyatservis (Road Transport Service) Department, the Baku office of WB told Trend.

The key objective of the visit is to carry out review of the implementation of the projects in the sphere of reconstruction of automobile roads. They are financed as one project.

The talks are focused on a set of issues. In particular, the issue on purchase lands within the framework of the project on reconstruction, expansion and alternation of the Alat-Masally automobile route, as well as the repair of the Baku-Shemakha-Mugan road, linking Baku with the western regions of the country.

The WB took a resolution on allocation of $200m credit for their reconstruction. The funds needed for the projects can be allotted under the second credit. The WB mission will consider the issue on approval of the funds and other aspects of the road reconstruction.
