Over the first half-year of 2006 the poultry production has reduced in Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told Trend for the time being they have failed to prevent drop in poultry production due to bird-flu.
In January to June the poultries of Azerbaijan manufactured 8,300 tons of chicken (-15.8%) and 112.5 million eggs (-18.7%). The number of birds reduced 5.4% as compared to the first half-year of 2005, including birds laying eggs 20.8%. Such tendency had a very negative impact on chicken and eggs production.
