In the second quarter of 2006 the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC, an operator of ACG development project) and BP remitted to the public budget $130m in profit taxes, the Finances Ministry told Trend. In the first quarter of 2006 the remittances summed up $80m.
The contractor companies on the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields started payment of profit taxes and total revenues in that period comprised 213.2m manats. 93.8m manats of the total fell on remittances as of results of 2005, while in the first quarter of 2006 119.4m manats.
In 2005 and in the first quarter of 2006 the AIOC and BP transferred to the public budget 128.7m manats, Unocal 40.5m manats, TPAO 21.7m manats, Inpex 11.6m manats and Statoil 10.7m manats.
Remittances by contractor companies are expected to attain 600m manats in 2006.
