In September Ata Holding is keeping negotiating on alternative power sources implementation in Azerbaijan with Wartsila, whose representatives come to Baku in short, reportedly said Ahmet Erentok, chairman of supervisory board, Ata Holding.

At the moment Ata Holding is also taking to General Electric, Nar Enerji and Zor Enerji.

Mr Erentok considers the project implementation beginning this year possible due Azeri laws saying power production is a governmental monopoly. Consequently, private-owned companies may just distribute it.

В"We are still preparing the project ad hoping some changes will take place in the legislation. Besides, such projects take some time to find partners, technologies, acceptable variant of power production (water, black oil, wind, sun)В", underlined Mr Erentok.

Ata Holding experts estimated all energy projects the holding will participate in $1.1bn to get invested in operating power plants recovery and alternative power sources development. В"This is not a big money if taking into account that Azerbaijans energy deficiency in winter is some 20 percentВ", said Mr Erentok.
