The commercial Turanbank is completing the procedure of joining the international payment system MasterCard. The decision on admitting Turanbank into associate members of the payment system has already made in the Board of directors, but the procedure of certificating cards hasnt started yet, Trend reports with reference to the same bank.
At present, the bank has ordered cards in number of 1 thousand. Probably, the preparation of cards will be completed by September. Turanbank has been functioning in the card market since 2004, starting to issue local cards, but from the same year, it started to take interest in issuing them in connection with the plans of emission of international cards. Up to now, the bank has issued 1.2 thousand local cards.
Turanbank entered into membership of MasterCard under the sponsorship of Rabitabank which is full-right member. To date, the banks act in the international payment system under sponsorship from Azerbaijan International Bank.
Despite that Turanbank became one of the shareholders of processing center Millikart, it will function through Azerikard.
