As of June 30, 2006 license for banking operations possess 133 credit organizations, from which 85 are non-banking credit agencies. From 44 banks operating in the country, 41 banks are authorized for deposits attraction, 43 for operations with foreign currency, 3 for operations with valuable metals, 41 for issue of guarantees and L/C and 34 for operations with plastic cards, Trend reports.
There are 18 banks with foreign capital in Azerbaijan, in three of them foreign capital fraction is 50 to 100%, in 11 up to 50% and in 4 it is 100%.
