The refuse of US EximBank to finance the opening rail link through the route of Kars-Akhalkalaki - Tbilisi Baku is the result of the activity of Armenian lobby, Azerbaijani vise-primer Abid Sharifov told, Trend reports.

According to Sharifov, the president of the country is resolute in this issue, as well as Turkish and Georgian countries are ready to realize the project within a short time.

during recent meetings at the opening of BTC (July 13), during visit of Turkish prime minister Rajab Tayyub Erdogan and within the interstate commission it was stated agreement on realization of the project. Yet we have appealed only to US EximBank, told vise-primer.

The state minister of Turkey Mehmet Aydin considers that the railway project is strategically important as BTC because the route will be connection between Europe and Asia.

It would be important the participation of the countries such as the USA in financing the project, but it will not influence the decision to realize it, Aydin stressed.

According to Sharifov, the project assumes a world importance. Therefore, the desire of the neighboring country will not prevent its realization because their situation is becoming worse.

Kazakhstan has already announced about the possibility of transporting up to 10 mln tones of cargos through this route, Sharifov told. The attraction of the route is that it directly connects Azerbaijan to Europe through Turkey.

Mainly dry cargos are intended to be transported through this route. Partly oil and oil products will be exported through this route. The marketing investigations show that at the moment there are problems with the transportation of cargos through Black Sea ports, particularly, while repeatedly transferring the cargo from one to other coach, and is causes the increase of the costs. The transportation through this route is directly realized and has a great potential.

Georgian ports cannot fully ensure the transportation of all cargos. But mainly, the volume of oil and oil products that will be transported through the route of Kars-Akhalkalaki - Tbilisi Baku will not affect the volume of transportations in Georgian ports.
