SOCAR doesn't sustain difficulty in relation with problems in Azeri and Georgian rail ways

The problems emerged in Azerbaijani and Georgian rail way with the transportation of oil and oil products will not have negative impact on the exportation of oil cargos of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Trend reports quoting SOCAR.

In August (8-9 and 23-24), two batches of SOCAR light oil will be shipped in direction of Batumi port, each batch with 80 thousand tones. Besides, ExxonMobil will load its oil received from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli filed (two 80-th. t. batches)

At the moment, Azerbaijan State Railways Department (ASRD) stopped the receiving of oil cargos from north direction. It is justified through the issue that in result of return of cargo transportation, Azerbaijan rail ways sustained the lack in locomotive park.

According to information provided by the representatives of the transport ministry, this year the volume of cargo transportation through rail ways importantly increased. According to information of ASRD, the volume of the cargo transportation with in the first half year was 15.1 mln tones and it is 3 mln 311.6 th. t. more than planned volume.

This year, the growth is observed in all types of cargos. Besides, the contracts for the transportation of Ukrainian pipes to Turkmenistan, as well as Turkmen oil products from Russian Makhanchgala port to Georgian Batumi port through the territory of Azerbaijan started to be executed.
